Visitor Information

The grounds around Carr House will be open to the public starting Saturday, April 3, and every Saturday and Sunday thereafter from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Carr House, including the restrooms, will remain closed. However, the Forest Service is providing a handicapped-accessible Port-a-Pot until such time as Carr House can be opened to visitors.

Our Carr House host, Mike Foster, is looking forward to welcoming you back to the beautiful Huachuca Mountains.

The trails are open year round. We will be open on Saturday and Sundays, as well as major holidays, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. through Sunday, November 29, 2020 . Maximum occupancy of Carr House is 49 persons.

Directions to the Carr House: From Sierra Vista travel south on Highway 92 to Carr Canyon Road. Follow Canyon Road (west) for 2.1 miles until the road splits off to Carr House Road (south east) which is where you will turn. Follow Carr House Road past the gate until you arrive at the house!

The Carr House

The Carr House is a historic cabin situated in Carr Canyon near Sierra Vista, AZ. It has been renovated and opened to provide information and education to the public regarding the Huachuca Mountains. Exhibits and an easy nature trail walk to the Todd/Healy Ranch are featured.

The Carr House is open seasonally from late March through November. Hours: 9 a.m. to 4 p..m Saturdays and Sundays.

Free programs dealing with many topics pertinent to the Huachucas and the surrounding area are presented every other Sunday at 1:30 p.m.. These programs begin the first weekend in May and culminate in October.

The Carr House if fully accessible and complies with the Americans with Disabilities Act.

Maximum occupancy of Carr House is 49 persons.

The nature trail is open from dawn to dusk everyday.
