Edible Plants – Hike With Mike

August 18, 2018 @ 9:30 am - 11:00 am

Carr House Visitor Information Center

Saturday, August 18, 9:30 a.m.

Head on up to Carr House August 18th and prepare to be amazed at the variety of plants in this beautiful setting.  And prepare to be even more amazed at videos showing people of the Southwest gathering and preparing traditional foods and medicines from the wild.  The program will start at 9:30 a.m.

Mike Foster, Carr House host, will explain how present day people of Sonora still know the value of the plants in the environment around them.  Mike will also discuss how you too can begin to take advantage of some of these plants.

A short walk around Carr House will follow the presentation so that participants can use their new-found knowledge to identify plants and discuss how they can be used.  The presentation and walk will take approximately 1½ hours.

For safety reasons occupancy in Carr House is limited to 49 people. In the past, the audiences for some popular programs have exceeded that number. Please arrive early to be sure you get a seat, as additional visitors over the limit will not be admitted while the program is going on. Overflow guests will be invited to watch a live stream of the program at our outside picnic area.

Carr House is located on Carr Canyon Road, 2.1 miles from the intersection of Highway 92 at the Mesquite Tree Restaurant.
